We want to share spend data with other councils and so I would like to make sure that we map our spend to the correct ProClass category - a few questions:

  • Where are we putting Hotel Accomodation & other Travel?
  • Was the question posted earlier about property lease/rental every resolved?
  • Do Architects come under Consultancy/Construction
  • Do we code books, a/v materials, to education/supplies when they are not educational.
  • Where do subscriptions go?
Is there a guide to what goes where? It is not always obvious to me and once you have to hesitate and make a guess there is a good chance another council might make a different choice.

Hotel Accomodation etc would be covered by 'Facilities & Management Services - Travel'.

Property lease/rental is a bit more difficult, I would prefer to discuss this with Terry Ashmore before giving a definitive answer.  Unfortunately he is out of the office today but I will bring these points to his attention tomorrow.

Architects would currently be covered by Consultancy - Construction, although it has previously been suggested that they should have their own classification in the upcoming release.  I will check with Terry tomorrow whether this has been approved.

Books and a/v materials would indeed be covered by the 'Education - Supplies - etc' headings.

Could you clarify subscriptions please?  Journals, memberships etc.

The headings are intended to be self-explanatory but clearly there is a need to refine the 'clarification info' data to tidy up some of these issues.  We will attempt to address this in  the next release.

Currently the top-level heading 'Facilities & Management Services' covers property lease/rental, and 'Human Resources - Professional & Advisory Services' should be given to subscriptions.
